Audrey Read

Audrey Reed grew up in the beautiful Robson Valley of British Columbia, on a dairy farm near the village of McBride. After marring her husband Walter, they moved west and after many moves settled on a half section of land between the Fraser and Burns Lake. When they leased this land from the government in 1968 the work began. There wasn't a spot big enough to turn a saddle horse around on so it had to be logged, stumped and those dag-on roots picked. All that followed by working up the ground and seeding it. Then of course over the years more land was purchased to make sure there was no spare time! Happily, they have their four children and eight grandchildren close by.
